What Happened to the Haymond Covered Bridge in St Mary's, Indiana?

The St. Mary’s of the Rock Covered Bridge, also known as the Haymond Covered Bridge, crossed a branch of Pipe Creek near St. Mary’s Road and close to St. Mary’s Church, Franklin County; this was also the location of a community once known as Haymond. This single span Howe Truss structure had a length of 115 feet, or 125 feet including the 5-foot overhang at each end, with a portal clearance 13 feet 6 inches wide by 12 feet high. Built in 1881, The St. Mary’s of the Rock Covered Bridge was moved from the roadway in 1969 with hopes that it could be sold. It was eventually utilized as a corncrib in this same location.
