Sugar Creek Phantom Interurban Bridge, Lima, Ohio

Sugar Creek Phantom Bridge, Lima, Ohio

Just 3 miles north of downtown Lima, Ohio is the abandoned Sugar Creek Interurban Phantom Bridge. Built around 1905 and last used around 1937 this was owned and operated by the Ohio Electric Railway who also built the famous interurban bridge over the Maumee River near Waterville, Ohio. Everyone who crossed this bridge on an interurban is no longer living. This single span concrete arch bridge is about 50 feet long and spans Sugar Creek. It’s still in decent shape although it’s almost totally covered in vegetation.
