Greenbriar Bridge, Guilford, Indiana
Greenbriar Road Bridge, Guilford, Indiana
This one lane concrete arch bridge spanning a branch of the West Fork of Tanners Creek, built in 1910, at one time saw up to 300 vehicles a day on Collier Ridge Road. In 2009 a steel through truss bridge just 100 yards down the hill was replaced and a new road alignment was made effectively bypassing this bridge.
Now the original road is a deadend with only 3 households using the bridge. The bridge is listed in “fair” condition which is saying a lot considering for over 100 years this bridge has seen very little maintenance.
