Nestled in the far southeast corner of Kentucky is the historic Elkhorn City Railroad Museum. You’ll have to look for the museum as it’s off the beaten path but definitely worth the drive. The museum is home to thousands of railroad related items and materials from written records to photographs to rail cars. If you like trains, this is a place you need to visit.
Next to the museum is the abandoned Kentucky Route 80 steel through truss bridge. A beautiful bridge that served its time to both vehicle and pedestrian traffic. Now it just sits silently’ a piece of history frozen in time.
