Abandoned Military Air Base, Near Dayton, Ohio, Built During WWII
The Dahio Trotwood Airport (FAA LID: I44), also known as Dayton-New Lebanon Airport, was originally designed as a refueling airport for military planes during WWII. It was later a public-use airport located seven miles west of the central business district of Dayton, in Montgomery County, Ohio, United States. The airport is situated between Trotwood to the northeast and New Lebanon to the southwest. It was also operated as a Drag Strip in the late 1950s.
