Three Historic Phantom Bridges Discovered Along an Abandoned Ghost Road in Michigan
Three Phantom Bridges Discovered Along a Ghost Road Near Maybee, Michigan, Large Holes in Bridge
I did some research and found out after talking to the county that the bridge was built around 1920. The main concrete arch bridge is around 82 feet long while the two smaller bridges are about 30 feet long each. The road was closed on July 30th, 1987. About 21 years later on March 12th, 2008, the bridge was removed from the national bridge index. The county also informed me that the James Road Bridge/James Road has not gone through the abandonment procedures. However the bridge was closed for safety reasons.
