Historic Shawnee Bridge, Williamsport, Indiana
The Shawnee Bridge spanning the Wabash River and linking Fountain and Warren Counties was most likely given that name due to the nearby Big Shawnee Creek. Built in 1905 by the Attica Bridge Company of Attica, Indiana the Shawnee Bridge is a 5 span Double Intersection Warren Through Truss Bridge measuring 810 feet long. The stone piers and abutments are original. This very ornate bridge is one of the best looking bridges in the state and definitely worth the drive. If you’ve ever driven across the bridge leave a comment below. If you have ever jumped off this bridge, definitely leave a comment below! I want to hear about it.
