Kellytown Road Bridge, Atlantic, Pennsylvania

Abandoned Bridge Deep in the Pennsylvania Woods, How Long Will it Stand?

The abandoned Kellytown Road Bridge is also known as the Faunce Bridge. Although I have no idea where the name Faunce comes in. If you know how that name came about, please leave a comment below. This is a Whipple Through Truss Bridge over Clearfield Creek on an abandoned section of Kellytown Road. One source tells me the bridge was built in 1883 while another source tells me it was constructed in 1889 by the Pittsburgh Bridge Company of Pittsburgh, PA and constructed by the Nelson & Buchanon Bridge Builders at a cost of $6840.00. The bridge was closed in the 1980s and has no hope of being reopened. The nearest town is Atlantic, Pennsylvania which has a population of about 64 people on any given day.
